My story

Since September 2024, my life changed in an instant. I was fully living life, surrounded by everyone I loved. I was doing everything every twenty-something does: always full of energy, cheerful, working hard on my career, planning to buy a house with my wonderful boyfriend, spending lots of time with my dear family, nephews and nieces, and always laughing with my friends. Sounds great, right? But that was my old life. Due to an accident, I’m now paralyzed from the chest down and confined to a wheelchair for the rest of my life, with all the consequences that entails. It felt like a devastating blow and honestly, it still does. Things were taken from me that I once took for granted.

In the video, I try to explain everything that happened, but fitting the past eight months into two minutes is nearly impossible. Club Dwars asked me to share my story and video, and of course I agreed. If there’s even the slightest chance I can help someone or answer questions for anyone in the same situation, I’m more than happy to do so. I think Club Dwars is a beautiful initiative, and I can’t wait to read more stories, stay in touch, and connect with fellow survivors to find all the information in one place.

I’m truly grateful that you’ve taken the time to read and watch my story and perhaps even made a donation. I want you to know: every contribution, large or small, means the world to me. Whether you donate or simply share, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Love, Donna
